Welcome to the End of Summer II Chess Tournament, where the days may be getting shorter, but the excitement is only growing longer! As we bid farewell to the warmest season, we invite you to join us in a celebration of strategy, skill, and the timeless allure of chess. Whether you’re a seasoned player or an enthusiastic novice, this tournament promises to be the perfect arena to showcase your talent, learn from fellow chess lovers, and engage in the noble battle of minds. Prepare your best moves and get ready to make this end of summer truly unforgettable on the chessboard!

  • 2025 OSCF State Championship qualifier.

  • Date: August 3rd, 2024 (Saturday), 10:00am – 3:30pm PDT (actual times may be slightly different):

    • Check in: 10am-10:20am

    • Round 1: 10:30am

    • Round 2: 11:30am

    • Round 3: 1:00pm

    • Round 4: 2:00pm

    • Awards: 3:15pm

  • Place: Village Church Gym (330 SW Murray Blvd, Beaverton, OR 97005).

  • Format: 4 round Swiss, G25+5 (each player has 25 minutes with 5-second increment after each move). Four sections (Novice, U600, U900, and Open). Section cutoffs may change based on average player strength, and sections may be merged. Adult players are permitted.

  • Prize: Trophies & medals. (1st-3rd Trophies, best female trophy, even and plus medals)

  • Entry fee: $30 (female/non-binary/low income/Rural-area players: Free), Zelle/Venmo/Paypal: puddletownchess@gmail.com . Please put the player’s FULL name and USCF ID (if any) in the Zelle/Venmo/Paypal note. We prefer Zelle

  • Free game analysis with Puddletown co-founders: FM Zoey Tang, Ishaan Kodarapu, CM Austin Tang & Neev Kodarapu

  • Lunch: Free Pizza for the players.

  • USCF-rated chess tournament. US Chess membership is required, which can be purchased on the US Chess website (www.uschess.org) or during registration: US Chess membership rates/information/benefits

  • Pre-registration only; no on-site registration.
