Puddletown is proud to continue their popular west side chess tournaments in March as well!
Puddletown Chess tournaments are popular among scholastic players for 4 reasons:
- (FREE game analysis with the founders who are rated USCF 1950 to 2250
- FREE pizza for players
- Convenient west side location and
- Beautiful 11″ trophies for winners in each quad
- USCF-Rated Chess Tournament, 2023 OSCF State Champion qualifier.
- Format: Quads, play players with similar ratings/strength
- Date: March 19th, 2023 (Sunday)
- Time: 2:30pm-6pm
- Place: Godfather’s Pizza (11140 SW Barnes Rd, Portland, OR 97225)
- Rounds: 3
- Time Control: G25+5 (each player has 25 minutes with 5-second increment for each move)
- Prize: 1st place for each quad gets a trophy or Puddletown T-shirt
- Entry fee: $25, Paypal: puddletownchess@gmail.com . Please put the player’s FULL name and USCF ID (if any) in the Paypal note.
- Free Entry : For youth players on Free/Reduced Lunch.
- Girl players: $15 ONLY
- Preregistration only, no on-site registration
- Free game analysis with WIM Zoey and top Oregon scholastic players Ishaan & Austin
- Free pizza for players
- Qualifier for the 2023 OSCF State Championship
