Yuletide Chess Tournament at La Salle December 11 (Online)

WHAT: A fun, festive, five-round chess tournament for all chess players in grades K-12. This holiday tournament will be NWSRS and Lichess rated, and has been designated as a qualifier for the OSCF 2022 State Championship. Time control is G25 min, + delay.

NEW: Higher rated players can compete in an OPEN section instead of by grade.

WHEN: Saturday, December 11th from 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM. Players should log-on by
8:30. Games will start at 9am, and then hourly until finished (plus 30 min lunch break).

WHERE: This year’s tournament will be VIRTUAL. All players must have their own computer (desktop or chromebook only!) plus ZOOM and LICHESS accounts to

HOW: Everyone plays five games! Register at www.lsprep.org/yuletide/ Early-bird cost is $25 if registered by Sunday, Dec 5th. Cost doubles thereafter. A registration packet full of Yuletide cheer will be mailed out the week before the tournament. Access codes will be Emailed on Dec. 10. Register soon to guarantee your spot.

AWARDS: ALL participants will receive a custom victory medal (in memory of Ed Addis). Amazing new trophy awards to individual players finishing 1st, 2nd, or 3rd (and more!) in their section. Separate sections are planned for students in K-3, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9-12, but may be condensed or expanded per TD
