Welcoming New OSCF Board Member from Eugene

As OSCF moves into its second decade, we continue to expand our mission of “More Chess, More Kids, More Fun.” In particular, we plan to increase the number of qualifying tournaments held throughout the year (More Chess). While we welcome more tournaments in the Portland metro area, we offer training, assistance and equipment to chess parents and coaches throughout the state to enable them to hold more tournaments for their local students (More Kids). We look forward to opportunities to partner with volunteers in Southern, Central, and Eastern Oregon in the coming year (yes…More Fun!).

Sarah Mendonca McCoy of Eugene has graciously agreed to join the OSCF Board. She will focus on increasing connections among the Southern/Central/Eastern Oregon chess families, including using social media on FaceBook. Stay tuned for a “Friend Request” from Sarah! This officer election will be final in two weeks unless objections are registered through the contact form by any volunteer parent or coach who organized an OSCF Qualifying Tournament between October 19, 2014 and the present.

With the addition of Sarah, the OSCF Board is now comprised of 4 members from Southern/Central/Eastern Oregon and 9 members from NW Oregon. To learn more about serving on the OSCF Board, please contact Rebecca Holt, OSCF President.
