Weekend Forecast: Thirty-Five and Rainy

All over western Oregon the forecast is for perfect chess weather, a perfect time to get together with friends and play in one of the very few team tournaments on the Oregon scholastic calendar and the ONLY one open to all K-12 students.

WHERE: Zion Lutheran School, Corvallis.

WHEN: Saturday, Nov. 12. Check-in 8:45-9:30.

WHO: Open to all K-12 players. If you are an individual or have too few players for a full team of four players, please contact the organizers at onco111@yahoo.com, and we will help you put together a team.

FORMAT: Four-player teams play matches against other four-player teams in three separate sections: novice, intermediate, and advanced (defined by rating and age). Pairings by team Swiss or RR, depending on section size. Bughouse tie-breaks.

AWARDS: Top three finishing teams in each section win team trophies. Individuals on winning teams receive medals.

REGISTRATION: Register online at oscf.org by Thursday midnight or send email to onco111@yahoo.com with questions or player/team information. Entry fee is $12 per player or $48 per team, whichever is less.
