In-Person Quads
Location: Maplewood Coffee and Tea (5206 SW Custer St, Portland, OR 97219).
Registration: 100% preregistered by 12:00pm the day of the event. Note the earlier deadline! No on-site registration.
Covid Protocols: See tournament registration page for full Covid Protocols, including mask and vaccine requirements.
Ratings: NWSRS and USCF. USCF membership is required and can be purchased/renewed during registration for $15/year (this is a discounted rate courtesy of OSCF).
Equipment: Chess sets, clocks, notation sheets, and pencils all provided.
Format: Players are grouped in quads of four by NWSRS/USCF rating. Each person players three rounds of G/25 +5.
Awards: 1st place in each Quad receives a custom-printed ribbon and a typewritten letter of congratulations.
Schedule:

Online Quads
Location: Lichess and Zoom
Registration: 100% preregistered by 12:00pm the day of the event. Note the earlier deadline!
Ratings: NWSRS, Lichess Classical, and USCF Online. USCF membership is required and can be purchased/renewed onsite for $15/year (this is a discounted rate courtesy of OSCF).
Equipment: Players must use a computer or Chromebook with a functioning camera and microphone. Tablets and phones often have problems joining teams and tournaments. Chrome is the best browser. Firefox, Safari, and Edge are known to glitch.
Format: Players grouped by ability into four-person sections (bottom section may have more than four). Everyone plays three rounds of G/25+5. Each rounds starts 10 minutes after previous round. Pairings by Lichess Swiss Pairing Software.
Fair Play: Video monitoring and cheat detection provided. Participants must agree to the OSCF Fair Play Agreement. Standings and awards not official until the completion of post-tournament fair play review.

Schedule:

- 3:00PM: Check email for Zoom Link and Section Assignments
- 4:30PM: Zoom Call Opens
- 4:45PM: Players must be logged on to Lichess and join the Zoom Call
- 5:00PM: Round 1 Begins
- ASAP (10 minute break) Round 2
- ASAP (10 minute break) Round 3
- 8:00: Tournament Complete (usually finishes early)
