Puddletown’s Spring Chess Festival is on May 13th! They would like to invite you to this exciting event, which promises to be a fun and energetic way to enjoy the season. Taking place just a few weeks after the OSCF state individual and team championships, this festival is the perfect opportunity to showcase your skills and meet fellow players from all around the state. So, mark your calendars, gather your chessboard, and get ready to join Puddletown for an unforgettable festival!

And if you could not qualify for OSCF 2023 due to insufficient games, this is your chance to qualify sooner in the season for OSCF State 2024 🙂

  • USCF-rated chess tournament, 2024 OSCF State Championship qualifier.
    • Format: 5 round Swiss, G25+5 (each player has 25 minutes with 5-second increment after each move).
    • Three sections (U600, U900, and Open). Section cutoffs may change based on average player strength, and sections may be merged.
    • Entry fee: $35 (female players: $20), Zelle/Paypal: puddletownchess@gmail.com. Please put the player’s FULL name and USCF ID (if any) in the Zelle/Paypal note.
    • Pre-registration only, no on-site registration.
    • Bring a digital chess clock if you have one.
  • Date: May 13th, 2023 (Saturday) 9:00am – 4pm.
    • Check-in time: 9:15am – 9:30am, get your vouchers for FREE pizza at check-in
    • (Round1: 9:30am
    • Round 2: 10:30am
    • Lunch Break & Simuls, once Round 2 is done
    • Round 3: 12:15pm
    • Round 4: 1:15pm
    • Round 5: 2:15pm
    • Award: 3:15pm
