Greetings, budding chess enthusiasts! Join Puddletown’s First Anniversary Tournament on September 30th. They are delighted to extend this special invitation to you for what is sure to be an exhilarating event. A fantastic way to embrace the season with enthusiasm and enjoyment. Scheduled just weeks after your new school year begins, this tournament presents a golden chance to exhibit your prowess and connect with fellow participants from across the state. So, circle the date on your calendar, and prepare to be part of an unforgettable celebration with Puddletown!
- USCF-rated chess tournament, 2024 OSCF State Championship qualifier.
- Format: 4 round Swiss, G25+5 (each player has 25 minutes with 5-second increment after each move). Three sections (U600, U900, and Open). Section cutoffs may change based on average player strength, and sections may be merged.
- Date: Sep 30th, 2023 (Saturday) 9:00am – 4pm. (Round1: 9:45am, Round 2: 11:00am, R3: 1:00pm, R4: 2:15pm, Award: 3:15pm)
- Place: Village Church (330 SW Murray Blvd, Beaverton, OR 97005).
- Prize: Trophies & medals. (Top 3 trophies, even and even plus medals)
- Additional events: Simul with National Masters, raffle, snack table, book sale.
- Entry fee: $35 (female players & low-income players: Free), Zelle/Paypal: puddletownchess@gmail.com . Please put the player’s FULL name and USCF ID (if any) in the Zelle/Paypal note.
- Pre-registration only, no on-site registration.
- Free game analysis with WIM Zoey and co-founders Ishaan, Neev & Austin along with other Puddletown volunteer coaches.
