Portland Chess Club leaders are offering *FREE* two-hour training sessions for using SwissSys software to run tournaments.
In January, the Portland Chess Club is moving to Lloyd Center in NE Portland, and they are planning to increase chess activities, especially for scholastic players. To do so, we need more tournament directors and assistant tournament directors to share the work (and the fun!).
All are welcome to attend the training, including coaches, parents, and scholastic players who are interested in helping put on tournaments.
The class will cover the following SwissSys features:
- Set up a tournament
- Register players
- Pair rounds and enter results
- Useful reports
- Fixing errors
- Creating US Chess rating reports
Potential training dates are the following:
November 9
November 10
November 16
November 24
November 30
Please email Mike Morris at mikejmorris@earthlink.net if you are interested in the class and which dates you cannot attend. Please bring a PC laptop if you have one. We can load a free sample version of the program for you to practice on.
You may also purchase a full SwissSys license at a 25% discount through OSCF. Email OSCF@OSCF.ORG to inquire.
