Grant Community School in Salem hosts the city’s biggest tournament of the year, the 2014 Grizzly Classic Chess Tournament, on March 1.  That link provides more details about the event, and you can register on paper (see the above link) or online here.  For those of you looking for an OSCF qualifier, or a good introduction to a full-day chess tournament, this is a great option, particularly for those in the mid-valley.
