USCF Rated Section is an OSCF State Championship Qualifier!
Where: Hermiston High School, in the library
When: Saturday, April 1st. 10 am play begins, until approx. 2 pm (awards follow final round)
Boards and notation sheets will be provided, 2 clocks are available. If players have a clock, they are welcome to bring it.
Who: All students and open chess players from
Hermiston and throughout the area are welcome!
What: Each player competes in five (5) matches, no elimination; these are USCF rated and count as Oregon Scholastic Chess Federation (OSCF) qualifying games for the state championship in Seaside. Time control is G/25;+5 minutes per side.
Sections: Players will compete in the following sections: K-12, USCF open, and unrated.
Fee: There is no cost to enter this tournament.
USCF memberships for students K-12 are available for $10.
To enter, please send an email with the following information for each player:
- First and last name
- Grade and school / or mark if an adult
- USCF ID and expiration date if applicable
PREREGISTRATION: Please email by 5 pm on 3/31 to be entered or call the TD at 541-571-4219.
We will have some light concessions available to raise funds for HSD Chess Club travel.
