Emerald City Chess Club Presents the 2017 Winter Open on January 28th from 10 AM – 6 PM at the Erb Memorial Union: Room 023 at the University of Oregon.This tournament is open to anyone, regardless of age, ability or experience! All sections are OSCF State Championship Qualifiers.
Registration: Pre-register by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org with your name and section you would like to register for. If you are a K-12 student, please list your grade and school as well.
Entry fees: Preregistered: $25 for the USCF Section and $20 for the Northwest Sections if pre-registered by January 26th. Entry fees will increase $10 if not pre-registered by that date. Entry fees will be paid at the door.

of all skill levels and is a OSCF State Championship qualifier. It will have multiple grade based sections which will reward individual performance as well as team performance. OSCF 2017 State Qualifier!
This event will feature generous awards for place and plus score finishers. The tournament is also a team event with Trophies to the top three Elementary, Middle, and High Schools. The number of players from one school is not limited but only the top four scorers will be counted toward the team total. The tournament will award $4,200 in door prizes!
Food and drink items will be provided by one of Clackamas’s student clubs, and will be open during most of the tournament for your refreshment. Check in from 8:15-8:45 am. First round at 9 am.

Calling all new tournament directors! You have been sitting in these tournaments, watching your kids play for years. You wish you could host one at your school, but you don’t know where to start. You can do it, and the OSCF board wants to help get you started!
Join Kathy Stevens on Friday night (April 29) during the Bughouse tournament to learn the basics of running your own tournament. Then, stop by on Saturday to see those concepts in action as she runs the Friends & Family tournament. You’ll get real-life examples, discover all the resources that the OSCF offers to support tournaments, and have your questions answered by OSCF qualifier Tournament Directors.
