FREE tournament! North Portland Open on Sunday July 16

Ed Addis is at it again…join him over the summer for a series of free chess tournaments!  The next one is the North Portland Open.

Sunday, July 16
Time: 12 pm to 5 pm
Type:  4 Round Swiss. G/25 d5.  OSCF State Qualifiers.  Please bring boards, sets, and clocks.
Registration: FREE!  Register on-site from 12 PM – 12:15 PM. I will need the following information for registration: Your Name, the school you attended, your grade in school (I actually need what grade you were just in, not the one you will be going to in September), and a contact method (phone/e-mail). You may pre-register by sending an e-mail with the above information to “chessalot@aol.com“. If you pre-register you must still check in by 12:15 PM.  Those who pre-register get precedence over walk-ins should there be a lack of equipment.
Prizes: Chess book to top three winners.  Tie Breaker: Cumulative, average opposition.
Equipment: Bring a chess set, board, and chess clock if you have them as none will be supplied. Also bring a pen/pencil and scoresheets to record the moves of your games.
Location: North Portland Library, 512 N. Killingsworth, Portland OR 97217
TD / Contact: Ed Addis, 503-658-7809, email chessalot@aol.com
Upcoming Tournament in the Series:
  • Midland Open: Saturday, July 29. 10 am to 4 pm. Midway Library. 805 SE 122nd Ave, Portland OR 97233.
