Rules: 5 rounds Swiss pairing. Game in 25 mins. Bring a clock if you have one.
– Trophies for top 3 teams in each section (Team score = sum of top 4 players in a section)
– Medals for top finishers in each section
– Top 3 finishers in each section get a free artistic rendering of one game by artist Beth Markovic (immortalgames.us)

Eligibility: All scholastic players, K-12. The tournament is limited to the first 36 players (9 quads) who register.

Registration: Register online at the Chess Odyssey website. Registrations are also accepted by phone call or text, or at the door, before 6:30 pm, if space is available. No registrations will be accepted after 6:30 pm.

Prizes: First place trophy, second & third place medal, fourth place small chess gift – for each section.
NEW: Cash prizes quad: 1st place – $40 / 2nd place – chess book + play for free in your next quad (valid for any of the following 5 quads organized by SKCC). Split prize in case of a tie. Quad can have a mix of cash and trophy players. Dual rated OSCF and USCF (Regular or Quick).
Format: Players will be divided into 4 player sections (quads) by NWSRS/USCF rating. Any section where ALL players have current USCF membership will be dual rated (USCF and NWSRS)
Schedule: Check-In: 14:20-14:25; play will start at 14:30. Each quad will operate on its own schedule; games will be started as soon as possible. Quads involving younger players are expected to finish well in advance of those involving older, more experienced players. Awards for each section will be made as soon as that section is completed.
Notation: Players are encouraged to notate.
Time Control: G25/5 for time delay clocks; G/30 for analog and non-delay digital clocks. Please bring your clock, if you have one.
Tiebreakers: Ties will be broken in this order: direct encounter, lower starting rating, the highest number of games played with black pieces, younger age, a coin flip.
Entry fee: $20.00 per player/Two or more siblings $17 per player.
