Deadline Extended! 2nd Annual KFE Benefit Tournament this Saturday–an OSCF State Qualifier–Saturday, November 15, 2014

[11/12/14 update: Registration deadline extended! You can now register for this tournament until Saturday morning!]

Registration is now open for the 2nd Annual KFE Benefit Tournament on Saturday, November 15. This tournament is is a qualifier for the OSCF 2015 State Championship.

Last year the tournament netted $1753 and 425 pounds of food for Bethlehem House of Bread, a community center in Tigard that hosts a food pantry, community garden, and meeting space.

Players who attended last year’s tournament will be pleasantly surprised by recent improvements in the venue. The pews have been removed from the former sanctuary to accommodate the tournament play, and the new skittles room (where the games were played last year) will be served by a concession stand in the adjoining kitchen.

This year’s tournament will have five rounds and G/35 time controls for three sections: Primary (K-2 unrated/U600), Elementary (3-5 unrated/U600), and Middle School (6-8 unrated or U900). The High School (9-12 unrated or U1200) and Advanced (1200+) sections will have four rounds and G/45 time controls.

Donations of shelf-stable food and toiletries for the food pantry will be welcome at registration. Most-wanted items include jam and jelly, salad dressing, ketchup, mustard, hearty canned soups (like Progresso), saltine crackers, raisins, granola bars, cold cereal, toilet paper, and shampoo.

Register and find more information here.

Website Changes – Assistance welcome!

As you can see, we’ve been making some changes to the OSCF.org website.  We needed some upgrades, and hopefully, once the changes have settled in, links and menus will work better across all platforms.  It will take some time to get the site working and looking the way we want it, so please bear with us while we’re making the changes.  In the meantime, if you are experienced in web design and administration (we use wordpress), and are willing to help with web maintenance and design, we’d love to have your assistance — please contact us!

We still plan to have All-Stars registration posted by the end of this week, and hope to see those of you who have qualified in Salem on October 10.
